Functional dry needling is a safe and effective method of treatment to reduce pain and muscle tension, while improving mobility. The technique uses small, thin needles that are inserted into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points to stimulate the tissue to alleviate muscle tension for improved mobility. Functional dry needling can be performed with or without e-stim. Generally, after treatment, patients will experience some muscle soreness that will improve with gentle mobility activities and ice.
