How the ASTYM™ System Helps
The ASTYM™ System is a rehabilitation treatment that provides a breakthrough in the way soft tissue injuries are treated. It’s a form of augmented soft tissue mobilization that allows us to identify and treat abnormal soft tissue. It taps into the body’s natural healing process to enable you to quickly return to your activities without pain and limitations. This cutting-edge, non-invasive treatment is performed by an ASTYM™ certified rehabilitation clinician with ergonomically designed instruments that initiate the healing process necessary for tissue remolding.

What’s Different About the ASTYM™ System?
-
Effective means for recovery both as a “first-choice” and “last-resort” treatment
-
Succeeds where other approaches failed
-
Addresses the underlying pathology as well as the site of pain
-
Facilitates tissue turnover and stimulates the remodeling and regeneration of tissue that was scarred, fibrotic or degenerated
-
Jump-starts the healing response rather than mediating the inflammatory process.
-
You can remain active during the treatment, which provides the stress necessary for optimal healing
What You Can Expect
A clinician certified in the ASTYM™ System will use the instruments to treat not only painful areas, but also other problem areas that may contribute to your condition. During treatment, you may feel areas that are “rough” or “bumpy,” which are the areas that need to be addresses. During the course of treatment you will notice that as these rough areas smooth out, your pain decreases while your function increases. Following treatment, you may notice some bruising and soreness in areas that were rough. You will also receive a personalized home exercise program to help your body rebuild healthy tissue and allow you to return to an active lifestyle. Most patients experience a significant improvement in their symptoms within the first three to four treatments.
No Need to Rest from Activity
With many nagging injuries such as plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis the only solution is rest, leaving the active individual depressed and agitated. With the ASTYM™ system, active involvement such as running, biking, and swimming during the rehabilitation process will facilitate a more functional alignment and optimal length of the new tissue formation.
The new tissue that the body produces is only as strong as the forces applied to it, so get off the couch and get back to the lifestyle you deserve!
